The database for our application was set to be distributed with Simple Recovery by default. Part of the installation sets up a job to do a daily backup. At one account, the log file keeps growing until it consumes all available harddrive space; this weekend it was over 70G. When I looked at their database settings, Recovery was set to Full. Am I wrong in believing, since it is Full Recover and a log backup is not being performed only a Full backup that was setup with Simple Recovery in mind, that this is the reason the log file continues to grow so large?
The last time this happened, they set the Recovery back to Simple but it has since been changed. Is there any way to tell on what date or by what user this has been changed? Is there some master table which gives the dates database settnigs were changed?
