Process could not connect to Distributor

    Our SQL Server 7 database has been creating snapshots and pushing them to subscribers fine for about a year and a half now. At the beginning of December, we began getting the error message:

    The process could not connect to Distributor 'OurServerName'. The step failed.

    Anyone know what the common cause is for this error?

    Are you replicating thru a firewall?

    The Distributor is located on the same server that the Snapshot is being created.
