70-443 is not a good exam.

  • I just want to warn anyone taking this exam.   The time allowed between each of the parts is short.   If you read each scenario carefully before tackling the questions, you will probably run out of time.   This test is largely about how fast one can look things up.   Luckily, I signed up for the Exam insurance.   Good luck.

  • Can you expand on what you mean by the statement about time between parts?

Do you mean that between each sim question you only have a couple of minutes, etc?

I'm taking it in the morning and am completely worried after reading all of the horror stories by people being posted on the web.

I'm just hoping that I can pass everything after bein gable to do reasonably decent on the Transcender, but not working somewhere that we take advantage of much of the advanced features of SQL means that my exposure to advanced things like partitioning, indexed views, etc is basically nil.

  • Do the timed transender exams and read the microsoft training guide carefully. Bol

  • Fizz, do you pass in this exam with Transcender + Self_Paced Training Kit + BOL ??

    Thanks,

  • I thought there was plenty of time, but I am a fast reader.

This exam is a "case study" exam. Each "part" is a case study, maybe a page to a page and a half of reading. There are paragraphs and sometimes exhibits on the system description, requirements, etc. Then you have 7-12 questions on each section.

  • A bit more info:

Each case study is timed separately and once a study is finished, you cannot return to it.

  • Steve:   What did you use to prepare for the test?

  • How many questions (scenarios) are there in this exam?

  • Do not take your Red Bull... you are not allowed to go to the bathroom during the test.  (I took most of the SQL 2005 exams while they were still in beta, and were twice as long... forgot to hit the bathroom before 71-441... )

  • any idea on # of questions for 70-443

  • if i remember correctly, there were 6 case studys with each case study having between 4 and 12 questions.  the time for each case study ranged from 20 mins to 40 mins.

from my experience, reading the case study thoroughly took about 10-15mins which meant you had to be pretty prompt with answering the questions.  fortunately, the questions were pretty easy.  the hardest part of the test was concentrating for the full 3 hours rather than the hardness of the questions.

  • There are about 50 questions.   I used transender, the training kit, BOL and the product.   The time it took to carefully read the scenarios is what killed me.   I am retesting in June.

  • Hi,

  • Where can I take the 70-443 exman? Any recommendations? Thanks

  • Exams are given at Prometric or VUE testing centers. There's no real difference between them.
