select statement help

    Hi all,

    Just a newbie to SQL

    on the categories column, I want to run a select statment that shows me all the categories in the column. Any clue please.

    something like this?

    SELECT DISTINCT categories FROM sometable ORDER BY categories

    will give you the list you described;
