Microsoft Marketing Man wakes up

On waking up this morning, I re-imagined the idea of having a bath, which turned out to be a deeply immersive experience. A good scrub realized transformative benefits from the backend to the interface; my teeth lit up from an extensive and profound brushing; the list goes on.

Soon, I felt I’d maximized my identity-related capabilities and this pushed me to use my emotional intelligence to reimagine Breakfast. The focus was then to let go of limiting patterns and transition into food-preparation behavior, in order to ensure I was creating an experience that made it as easy as possible for early risers to do what they do best: drink coffee.

In delivering breakfast, my wife and I passionately drove more value, agility and innovation in multiple domains and at multiple levels through collaboration scenarios. We were committed to delivering the bacon sandwiches and crispy frosties that our children love and need for breakfast. That’s the vision we had, and we were excited about the opportunity to start sharing. The unique value that I delivered to the kitchen table was the power to create and scale a nourishing broad-spectrum breakfast to deepen the engagement of my family. Harnessing the power of platform services and the process of continuous delivery, I enabled a variety of cooking experiences, right through from provision to consumption. By offboarding myself from the washing-up management system, and onboarding my daughter, I was able to improve the agility of my family, as a whole.

I then decided to gain agility and focus from a quick jog around the block. This opened the door on the must-do experience of opening the door. The Cloud-related Sky experience was my top priority. My jogging provided momentum and focus that was real and palpable. I felt productive, collaborative and satisfied: ready to face a day of important opportunities and challenges in performing the processes that drives the business strategy forward.

With breakfast digested, I felt ready to reach new levels of efficiency and tap new areas of growth: now to head to work. The car became the focus for theory and practice, action and reflection in order to gain a more coherent and dynamic praxis. It was not long before I’d found the car key and inserted it in the right place. I felt that I’d successfully deployed the indigenous technologies of consciousness.

The engine ticked over. I pressed the accelerator but my foot slipped off the clutch. The car took a major leap forward from the ground up, unlocking a new experience of terror. Briefly, I contemplated an inadvertent, life-changing, permanent movement to the cloud. There was a bang as the car hit the tree in the driveway. It was a stunning experience.

“Honey, err…it is important to recognize that there is a fundamental shift underway in our transportation facilities that will impact the delivery of our children to school. It forces us to reimagine how we get to work or do the shopping. The roadmap ahead …”

My wife looked confused and distinctly un-agile, as she surveyed the steaming front of the car embedded in our apple tree.

Hurriedly, I reassured her. “We will respond to these changes in the drivability of our car by focusing relentlessly on repairing the damage to ensure delightful, seamless experiences in transportation services, going forward. This means that we, as partners, will exploit the period before the car is repaired as an opportunity to develop stunning, new and exciting ways of achieving those things we needed the car for. Without a doubt we’ll do so in ways that take full advantage of transportation advances that complement one another and that unify all the trips that people make daily.”

So eloquently had I described the exciting opportunities ahead that I hadn’t noticed that she had disappeared indoors and was seen hurriedly packing clothes, right into the box. There were domestic challenges and opportunities ahead, across a broad spectrum…
