Speaking At The PASS Summit

,

It appears I was fortunate enough to be selected to speak at the 2011 PASS Summit.  This is shaping up to be a rock solid summit this year.  The day before the summit is my birthday, I get to speak at the summit, and then afterwards on to my honeymoon with Sarah (Blog | @DanceM0m).

Back to the topic though… my session this year will be Extended Events, Work Smarter Not Harder

There are many ways to performance monitor your SQL Server environment. In this session we’ll review Extended Events, which is one of the newer SQL Server monitoring platforms. Learn the ins and outs of how to get detailed information on the errors and events that occur within SQL Server and how to dig into the information. With a few T-SQL statements, issues that could take weeks to research can be investigated in minutes.

The presentation will be similar the two-part series, of the same name, I’m doing this month for the PASS DBA Virtual chapter.  The exception will be that the 101 materials will be removed and there will probably be newer demos to choose from.

If you haven’t had a chance to register for the summit, get shaking and get registered!  If you’re looking for a discount on attending, contact your local user group leader – they should all have a discount code for attendees by now.

Thank you to those that voted for my PASS session and to the members of the program committee that selected me this year.
