Social Hacks - Why Did I Write This?

,

Why did I write this? I got challenged by Andy Warren

to write a bit about why I wrote something. I complained to him that he

has some "mechanical" posts on this blog that just mention he wrote

something with some questions, and don't really blog about why he wrote

something. He challenged me to write about why I wrote something, so

here I am.

I've recently started using some social networking sites more. Specifically I joined Facebook (even got remarried to my wife, Facebook-style. Hurrah, she still loves me!!) and have been updating that, along with Twitter and LinkedIn. Our LinkedIn group is very popular and I get requests to join every day. We're up to, well I can't tell you as I write this as LinkedIn is down 🙁

In any case, I saw the article about social hacks on the rise and thought about how big the social networks are. Microsoft pushes it, I see more and more people on there, get friend and link invitations constantly. I also see articles about HR using those social sites, and I speculated that it's only a matter of time before we're scraping that data and pulling it into systems.

Then what do we do?
