Architecture Career Paths for SQL Server Professionals
The architect job title has many different meanings and is often applied haphazardly. What does “architect” really mean? What’s the difference between a Data Architect, a SQL Server Master, a SQL Server Architect, and an Infrastructure Architect?

This session will cover the different architect job roles for SQL Server professionals. Also covered will be the various certification paths for architect job roles including DAMA Certified Data Management Professional, Microsoft Certified Master, Microsoft Certified Architect, and IASA Certified IT Architect Professional.

Robert is Program Manager for the SQL Server Certified Master program at Microsoft Learning and has served as a board member for the SQL Server Certified Architect program. He previously worked as a Sr. Production DBA at Microsoft and has worked with SQL Server for more than 11 years. He is a SQL Server 2008 Certified Master who aspires to be a Certified Architect.
