Chennai SQL Server User Group and me

My one week long search to identify active SQL Server community in Chennai ended last Sunday.

Chennai SQL Server User Group (CSSUG) is one of the active user groups in Chennai organizing events every month.

Vidhyasagar (MVP) is one of the co-founder of CSSUG is actively leading this group and conducting events every month.

I had a chance to attend an event happened yesterday (06-Aug) in Microsoft training centre, located in Radhakrishnan road, Chennai and met some SQL Server contributors/ MVPs like Amit Bansal, Vidhyasagar and Madhivanan.

Vidhya gave his first presentation on ‘Performance Troubleshooting – Tempdb Database’ and explained some of internal aspects of tempdb issues.

Amit, guest presenter of this month gave a session on ‘Database Unit testing’. He explained how to make use of Visual studio features to perform database unit testing.

Topic which Madhivanan has taken this time is very simple ‘Understanding Date Time data type’. But he has shown the breadth and depth of it with some examples.

And finally I got chance to explain 4 common misconception about Indexes, Truncates and NULLs.

Here are few snaps taken at the end of this session.
