Two Speaking Engagements Coming Up: Next Monday in Burlington, Vermont & SQL Saturday #43 June 12th

By Hugo Shebbeare, 2010/05/17

Next Monday, I shall be driving the Smart down to Burlington, VT, again to visit Roman Rehak's Vermont SQL Server User Group and discuss Automatic Failover with Database Mirroring on SQL Server 2008.  We shall examine the prerequisites of Mirroring (port verification, service pack levels, optimisation, etc), the preference to use 64-bit and why, plus testing with RedGate's Data Generator, as well as general tips to monitor mirroring endpoints. If you are in the area and can make it, let Roman know roman AT arianna.net

Time:  Monday May 24th -   6pm to 8pm at Competitive Computing.354 Mountain View Drive Colchester, VT 05446

Also, next Month, I shall participate in SQL Saturday #43 on June 12th, although I only just found out today (!) and hope that I can give the session remotely (waiting for Greg Larsen's response - UPDATE, pulled since no LiveMeeting chance...) since I am participating in a disaster recovery exercise on that very same day during the evening also (and there's no way to energize back/forth). All I can say is that I hope sincerely to profit from the three-hour time difference between Montreal and Redmond.
