Let me show you another free tool for SQL Server that is very usefull and thanks from the companies that are serves us with them for free. A few days before Bred McGehee presents us a free tool and very smart & fast tool from RedGate company, it is SQL Search 1.0 and you can take a look a little explanation how it works. So let me introduce another free tool for SQL Server from Idera, it is SQL Permissions which let us to transfer logins and permissions from one server to another. SQL Permissions offers the flexibility to move logins or group of logins and apply permissions accross one or more DBs on target server.
System requirements and prerequisites for SQL Permissions are:
- Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4
- Microsoft Windows 2003
- Microsoft Windows XP
- Microsoft Windows Vista
- Microsoft Windows7
SQL permissions supports the following versions of Microsoft SQL Server:
- SQL Server 2000 (SP3a+)
- SQL Server 2005 (SP1+)
- SQL Server 2008
