SQL PASS 2011 Session and Pre Con

2011/06/16

Yesterday I was thrilled to find out that my session "Common Analysis Services Design Mistakes and How to Avoid Them" was accepted for SQL PASS this October.  This will be my first solo PASS session I have ever presented so I'm really excited!  The last time I attended PASS was in 2008 when I co-presented with some guy I meet while in Seattle named Brian Knight Wink.  PASS was truely one of the best experiences I had my my career at that point and that is why I'm so excited to be returning this year.

This year I will be part of two presentations.  First on Tuesday October 11 Brian and I will be presenting a pre conference seminar called "Buidling a Microsoft Business Intelligence Platform". http://www.sqlpass.org/summit/2011/SummitContent/PreConferenceSessions.aspx

Then on a day not announced later that week I will presenting the "Common Analysis Services Design Mistakes and How to Avoid Them".  This is sure to be a fun session so I hope to see you there.  Here's a high level of what will be covered:

Common Analysis Services Design Mistakes and How to Avoid Them [300]
Session Category: Regular Session (75 minutes)
Session Track: BI Architecture, Development and Administration Topics
Speaker(s): Devin Knight
Anyone new to developing Analysis Services Cubes will get thrilled when processing a cube successfully for the first time. Even though a cube is built there are many potential design mistakes that are often made. This session reviews common design mistakes that are made when building Analysis Services Cubes. You will learn how you can build a more effective cube that provides faster performance, faster development and simpler maintenance.

If you haven't been to a PASS Summit I highly recommend it.  From my experience it is well worth the money and It really is the best opportunity to learn, network and just have a great time with a group of your peers.  You can register for this years summit at http://www.sqlpass.org/summit/2011/
