A Greek Tragedy

This is just tragic. Thanks to Brent Ozar (twitter | blog) for posting it.

Idera web site hit by SQL injection attack

The irony is that the page in question is about a presentation on SQL Server security.

Hubris is pride or arrogance that leads to one's downfall. It was a central component of Greek tragedies, such as the plays by Sophocles revolving around Odeipus. Don't assume your apps have done proper input validation. Check 'em. Otherwise, your hubris may lead you to be the result of a Google search on SQL injection.

Ouch.

Bad press for sure, but we've been hit here before by this as well in the past. The website, like most other companies, isn't always the top priority.
