I've talked about trying to do a SQL Saturday event in Columbia, SC, for the last couple of years, ever since Andy Warren first asked me about it. I've never been able to put together a team to be able to tackle this, but it looks like we have a good core group this time around. As a result, we're shooting for putting an event together in late September / early October (not Labor Day weekend). Our first meeting of the team was today, so we don't have a firm date or even a location at this point. However, if you'd be interested in speaking or volunteering, drop me a line at kbriankelley {at} acm {dot} org.
EDIT: Changed it from just September to late September / early October. We're leaning towards early October to avoid conflict with University of South Carolina home football games.
