Midlands PASS Chapter - October 4, 2007 Meeting
Sponsored by Quest Software
The Midlands PASS Chapter is pleased to announce Taya Blanchard as our speaker for our October meeting. She will be speaking on looking at and troubleshooting application performance at the SQL Server layer. Prize giveaways are courtesy of Quest Software and End-to-End Training (free copies of Best of SQLServerCentral.com 2003). I've attached an agenda for tomorrow's meeting. If you have not RSVPed and plan to attend, please let me know as soon as possible so I know how much food to get.
A common goal for DBAs is to get the best performance and the most efficiency from SQL Server deployments. Regardless of what mode a DBA is in: reactive (problems are occurring with the production environment) or proactive (DBAs are attempting to determine the best efficiency from workload), there is a need of a simple set of steps to follow that will enable DBAs to meet the goal of performance and efficiency. Quest Software will present a practical guide to making sense of your SQL Server application performance.
About the Speaker:
Taya Blanchard is a Solutions Architect for Quest Software’s Application and Database Management line of products. Taya’s primary area of focus spans Quest’s SQL Server line of products. Prior to her role at Quest, Taya served as a consultant on many projects which allowed her to participate in all phases of the software development life cycle.
The Midlands PASS Chapter meeting will again be held at Training Concepts, located at 250 Berryhill Road, Suite 502, here in Columbia, SC. As always, if you are planning on attending, please RSVP so we can ensure that we have enough refreshments and seats. There is a code to get into the building if you arrive after 5 PM.
