Thanks for sharing Andy. It's good to read what's happening out there, esp for people like me who couldn't attend PASS this year. Few of my Brissie fellows are presenting at PASS including Rod Colledge and Peter Ward.

Yes, the "5 Spot" is a great place to eat and is located at the top of Queen Anne hill (close to the Space Needle). The parent company owns a few and are listed here - http://www.chowfoods.com/. Another group of restaurants my wife and I like are owned by Chef Tom Douglas - http://www.tomdouglas.com/.

Outside of those there are a ton of other great restaurants in Seattle so my suggestion is to start looking in the area of Seattle that is convenient for you. A great place for restaurant reviews is the Seattle Times Web site - seattletimes.nwsource.com/.../restaurants.

I tried a restaurant called "5 Spot" or something to that effect that was pretty good last year. I think it was up in or near the Queen Anne district.

Tango is also top notch. It's a nice walk from the Sheraton, the food is good, atmosphere is comfy, and the cocktails are strong.

I used 4by6.com for my cards. You do have to make everything yourself locally using something like PhotoShop, Illustrator, Gimp, Inkscape, or whatever. But the end result is really nice. I get a lot of compliments on the cards. The downside: it's hugely expensive in comparison to what you're doing. The upside: the cards are beautiful.
