Not every DBA has the time to sit down and spend a couple of hours learning about some new topic in SQL Server. But most DBAs can find 15 to 30 minutes to squeeze in a little learning, here and there. That is the concept behind www.sqllunch.com, a new website devoted to providing short bits of training that can fit into most any schedule.

About twice a month, live training sessions are held at 11:30 AM (CST), making it easy for many DBAs to fit small doses of training around their lunch periods. Or if you can’t attend a live session, you can always view any of the available training sessions that have been done in the past.

Some previous training videos include:

  • Understanding and Preventing SQL Injection by Kevin Kline
  • Reporting Services and Table-Valued Parameters by Patrick LeBlanc
  • Nuggets Found by Mining the Default Trace by Jack Corbett
  • SSRS Data Driven Subscriptions by Devin Knight
  • Top Tablix Tips by Jessica Moss

Some upcoming sessions include:

  • Scripting in SSIS by Brian Knight (January 19, 2010)
  • Introduction to Partitioning by Patrick LeBlanc (February 8, 2010)
  • Introduction to Graphical Execution Plans by Brad McGehee (February 25, 2010)

Of course, if you can’t attend any of the live sessions, you can always watch the sessions at your convenience directly from the website.
