More Information for Prospective PASS Speakers

If you have already submitted an abstract for the 2009 PASS Community Summit, or you are still thinking about it, be sure to check out the new information that has been added to Speaker’s Resource page.

Specifically, two new content pages have been recently added to the original page. They include the “Minimum Criteria to submit a Pre-/Post-Conference Abstract” and the other is
”Understanding How the PASS Community Summit Abstract Selection Process Works.”

You may find both useful in your understanding of how the 2009 PASS Community Summit selects speakers.

Any particular reason PASS put those pages behind a login?

I am not sure of the official answer to this, but my guess is that since you have to be a PASS member to submit an abstract for the Call for Speakers, that PASS wants only members to view the content. Much of the content of the PASS website is not available unless you are a member and are logged in.

I'm not sure I see a reason to require the login - we'll look at it!

Follow up, we've looked at this and decided that it should not require a login to view, should be corrected in the next day or so. To elaborate just a little, our strategy is that only pages that deliver value directly to PASS members or are things like profiles/content should be secured, with the goal that we want potential members to have the widest opportunity to see what PASS does before they make the decision to join/register.
