Improve your SSMS Interaction

Ever wanted to liven up your life some with some color in your day to day DBA duties. There are a few things you can do to make your SSMS an even better tool for your day to day and help keep you out of trouble. You can choose colors fro your connections based on your preference. You may choose to make production a bright color to avoid running problematic statements there :) . Check it out here:

By the way, this only works for SQL Server connections, not for SSIS, or SSAS connections in SSMS.  Bummer, I know, I would have preferred to color mine by product and then by stage.

Another great find this week is from the Customizable options in SSMS. Check out this combo box that will allow you to jump to anywhere in your script and more. Right click on your toolbar and select customize, then got find the following option: Commands Tab, Edit on the left, and Go to Find combo on the right.

Drag and drop this onto your toolbar and begin using it. It will blow your mind. Try this command just typing it in to the box.
