Notes from the Sep 24, 2008 Orlando .Net User Group Meeting
I don't seem to find the time often, but recently I was able to fit in another visit to the ONETUG meeting. They've got a great venue, a large meeting room at Orlando City Hall, the only downside is finding your way to it the first time and finding parking… Read more

The Relational Manager and Managerial Relations - Why?
Why did I write this? I got challenged by Andy Warren to write a bit about why I wrote something. I complained to him that he has some "mechanical" posts on this blog that just mention he wrote something with some questions, and don't really blog about why he wrote… Read more

Technical Difficulties
Always something going wrong around here with the podcasts. Today I was editing a couple, or attempting to, and couldn't do it. There was some interference a mic noise and basically two whole podcasts, which include multiple mistakes and F-ups, and had to abandon things.
And I'm gone Friday, so… Read more

Polos for SQLSaturday
One of things we've tried to do from the beginning is to provide each speaker & volunteer with a good quality polo. Due to luck far more than skill, the shirt picked the first time worked out very well, so rather than be creative we're just sticking with what works.… Read more

I woke up early, with my schedule a bit messed up from last week and yesterday. I was tempted to lay in bed with my wife, but since there was a kid in our bed and I knew I'd be getting up early with Kyle this week, I decided to… Read more

Cheap Vacation/Travel Books
As you've probably noticed via the blog I read a lot; technical, fiction, and non-fiction. Reading can be an expensive habit. I definitely buy a few books during the year, but especially for vacations I've found it useful to supplement by budget with a visit to my local library (I… Read more

Facebook - I'm on it
I've never really gotten the social site thing. I don't get the appeal of Facebook, LinkedIn, Plaxo, MySpace, etc., beyond the ability to set up your own web site easily. Since I can do that on my own, I wasn't really sure why I should mess with something like the… Read more
