New York, NY, March 15 2005 – Nob Hill Software has released a new beta version of their ‘Randolph’ product - a software which helps to maintain database schema changes over time by constantly taking ‘snapshots’ of the database schema.

Working with Randolph enables the users:

  • To easily view the database structure as it evolved over time. Questions like ‘what changes were made to tables, stored procedures, functions and triggers, and when’ can now easily be answered
  • Easily browse through all the entities, and filter by multiple criteria – including full text search in the SQL code
  • Restore the database, at any point it time, to its exact state as it was saved at any other point in time
  • Synchronizes with SourceSafe by automatically push database schema changes into the version control system

In Accordance with Nob Hill Software’s philosophy, this tool has minimal impact on the databases which it monitors, and it can adapt itself to many different working styles. No matter which is the development methodology any client chooses, they can benefit from a lightweight service that will always remember the state of the database at any given time, and help avoid losing any code.

‘Randolph’ is currently out in beta version. Users who will install and use the software and will either find bugs or have suggestions for improvement which will be adopted will be entitled to a lifetime license for the software.
