Post SP2 Fixes Explained

By Press Release,

There have been quite a few new SQL Server builds and patches released in the last month and it has definitely gotten confusing.

I made this quick press release because on Friday Bob Ward of Microsoft put out a great blog post that details what the various builds mean and what you should do depending on where you stand with a server. I highly recommend you read this post below:

SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 (SP2) Re-release and post fixes explained

Left out of the post, however, and indeed left out of all posts I've seen is an apology for the shoddy release of the Service Pack. A simple "We're sorry" would go a long way with the SQL Server community.
