| Is it possible to use SSMSE with SqlServerCe 3.5 without having to install a version of SQL Server Express. If answer to my question is Yes. How do I configure SSMSE as I have been trying for two full days.

| When you open SSMS, in object explorer there is a connect option, click that and its a drop down with an option to connect to a CE database.

| Thanks for your response. Unfortunately this did not work. The only SQL Server I have on my machine is SQLServerCe 3.5. I have tried every combination without success, I often get error codes of 26 and 53 whatever they mean.

Jeff Hi,
Thanks for your response. Some of the information was useful, but I have now reached the conclusion that as I have managed without SSMSE SP2 for over a month now I can live without it. Thank you once again for your interest and efforts on my behalf
Kenko
