hi I gopt this eroor in sql server 2005.

select error:SQLSTATE=08s01 Microsoft OLEDB provider for sql server connection failure


how can i resolve it. any one can help me.

There are only about a million ways to get that message..

Assuming you have been able to connect before from this machine
1. Is SQL Server up?
2. Is SQL running on a non-standard port and SQL Browser is not running on the server.

Lets start there..

What did SQL error log says? Check if Remore connection is enabled

When you retrieve this data, are you only pulling it from one database? Are you connected to that database?

Are you pulling from multiple DBs? Are you using a Linked Server?
