Using GROUP BY with ROLLUP, CUBE, and GROUPING SETS
(Books Online)
Grouping Sets In SQL Server 2008
(Craig Freedman's Blog)
Those were my first two matches using Google Search.

What do you mean by "best"? What makes one example better than another for you?

I might be going out on a limb here, but 'best' here seems to refer to the need to reduce the confusion level.
So, a clear, and easy-to-digest example might fit the bill?

Did you go through the links provided by Paul??
I don't think you will get any simpler examples than that. The
Craig Freedman's Blog
is pretty simple and easy to understand.

Thanks for pointing that out. I thought Craig did an excellent job, but I was starting to think maybe I was wrong, and Vaibhav didn't find it useful...!
