hi,
Please help. I have Vista,Visual Studio 2008, SQL Server 2005. And various SPs. Installation screwed up.
In Visual Studio 2008, if I go to:
data -> add new data source -> database -> new connection
I can't see the Microsoft SQL Server CE option?
regards

Do you have the compact database option from the SS 2005 tools?

Hi,
thanks for the early response. I have "Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Mobile Edition" and "Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5"under start -> All programs
Is that what you meant?

No, from within SQL Server Management Studio, when you try to connect so you see "SQL Server compact Edition?"

What do you see from View|Database Explorer|Right click Data Connections|Add Connection
I see:
Microsoft Access Database File
Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5
Microsoft SQL Server Database File
What about you?

I need to re-install something. I've been re-installing everything related, but, nothing yet?

I have a thought.. Go to the SQL Server Compact Downloads page:
http://www.microsoft.com/Sqlserver/2005/en/us/compact-downloads.aspx
And download the version and all the tools there. Install them directly.
That is about all I got..
