Hi all,

I have an application which is using MSSQL 2005 fulltext search. The application must be capable of performing search in Chinese and English.I have the application installed in 2 similar environment both running on MSSQL 2005 server (different versions). I tried to do a search on an exact phrase in a column (contents exists), environment A returns the result accurately however environment B does not.The things that puzzled me is that since the fulltext catalog and applications that i am running are same on the 2 environment, how come the results differ so match.

Could there be a problem in the server settings or could there be anything that i missed out? Please advise.

This maybe related to the size of the Chinese alphabet and the English Latin Alphabet and relevant service packs because I think if you go to regional and install the East Asian file in both boxes you should get the same results. The reason Microsoft says if the langauge packs is installed you should get any language, you should also check the fulltext files to make sure both files in both boxes is the same.

Kind regards,
