We've got bold, underline and italics, so how about an overstrike tag?
As someone who makes a lot of typos and has to edit their posts all the time, I can say that this would help a lot in those case where I need to correct the orignal because the typo makes the post just
wrong
, but just removing the typo would make subsequent replies to it confusing.
