SSIS modification denied

  • A previous member of our staff had set up several packages before his departure, but our remaining staff is pretty new to SSIS. I am able to make changes to the package at will; however, another staff member gets an error when he tries to save a change to an OLE DB Source object in a Data Flow Task: "The operation could not be completed. Access is denied."

Does anyone have suggestions on what the security limitation may be and where to change it to give him access to this package?

    Thanks!!

  • Is this other staff member getting this error when he tries to save any change in the package? If so, it may be a filesystem permission issue. Check the file/folder location of the SSIS file (with the extension .dtsx) to make sure that the appropriate personnel have read/write/exec permissions.

  • I was sure that he was at a point before file system access, but giving him Full Control over the folder containing the project/package resolved the issue. Thanks!!
