I can't believe that this piece has yet to receive any comments. Maybe I'm the only one in the world who didn't automatically know of this work-a-round or perhaps I am in the minority in preferring SQL Jobs in the place of Maintenance Plans.
I for one want to say thanks for sharing this. Not only can I make use of this but your timing was absolutely perfect. I was just beginning the process of working on how to continue using my own SQL Job that consist of several job calls via sp_Start_Job, and change it so that the job calls are asynchronous instead of synchronous.
Kindest Regards,
A Democracy works great until the day you find yourself on the sheep side of a vote between 5 wolves and 4 sheep on what’s for dinner when neither have eaten in many days. A free Republic where the rights of the few and the individual are protected is the only one in which Freedom and Prosperity for all have a chance to blossom.
