Is there anything thing we can do, some setting client side or whatnot to be able to see more of the Subject and Description for posts that end up being rather lengthy... Or is this something I'll only be able to see in an RSS reader?
Seems some posters put some important details int he subject and description but when it's displayed I can't see it. When you hover over the subject the tooltip give the beginning of the post instead of the rest of the title.
BTW I'm using FF 3.somethign or other if that matters.

I'm not sure how configurable this is. I'd have to dig into it and see if there's something we can do.
Most people don't enter a description, BTW. It's one of the rarely filled out boxes.

I know, and I actually make it a point not to because you can only see so little of it.
It's not just the description I'm talking about though. The subject line itself is truncated and there's no place to see it within the site (or at least that I've found). I've seen enough posts that are missing part of the question because someone posts something like...
Subj: I'm having a problem with SQL Server 2000 SP4 doing such and such thing...
Post body: ...so I'm looking for suggestions on how to accomplish the above.
In the post you see "I'm having a problem with SQL Server 2000 SP..."
Perhaps I'm just a bit oversensitive to this... Any thoughts?

You can see the full subject line by opening the thread and then looking at the text in the
Title Bar
of your Browser. And yes, I went through many weeks of frustration too, until I realized this!

OK, the title bar thing will work for me for now, but it might not be the worst idea to restrict the subject line to a certain number of characters during future development efforts...

I agree with Jeff. Same thing with emails. Last employer I worked at people would send an email with error details in the subject line to the help desk, who would then enter it into the "help system" but the subject line would not be included, and then the users would get upset when asked for more details. the response, it was in the subject line.
