Hello

Currently i did a seminar in SQL SERVER 2005 (Implementing a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Database) and i am thinking to try for the Microsoft certification. I would be grateful if someone could give me some suggestions on how to pass the exam. A friend told me that some tests from Test King may be helpful. If any one has wrote the exam and have any suggestions please leave a comment.

Also if someone knows any good books that would be helpful for the exam please let me know

Thank you

Thank you for your response. I am interesting for the microsoft sql server 2005 certification because the training course i took was based on sql server 2005. I think that the exam for the certification is the 70-431.
You said that there are many sites like Testking that can help me with the exam. I know that in order to take an exam from Testking you have to pay. Do you know any other sites that are free and are also helpful for the exam?

Also if you know about any books that are helpful please recommend. I ve learned that the self paced training toolkit of microsoft is a good book. Do you have any comments on that?

Sorry... I dont know any sites where you can get free exam. I feel you if you search on internet you may get some information on that.

I have also seen, many site are there where we need to pay for that to take exam simulation.

I passed that one about 12 months ago... if its the same then the exam is split with multiple choice and scenario based questions so you will need to know your way around SSMS. Personally, I pasted the entire exam syllabus into a project plan and worked through the topics in books online, ticking them off when I felt confident with the subject. Microsoft had a 'second-chance' offer at the time so I figured if I was to fail it wouldnt cost me to sit it again. Thankfully I didnt need to in the end.

Thanks for the tip my friend. In your mail you wrote that if i want to pass the exam i can use tests from the Pass4sure. I dont know if i can catch up with the exam until 25 of december. My opinion is that i want to spend some time learning some things about sql server 2005 and then try to take the exam. I also found a good book from microsoft that has lots of practices for sql server 2005.
I heard that TestKing also sells tests for the certification but i heard some rumors that questions from TestKing are not always the actual questions in the certification.

I would like to ask you (if you know of course) if Pass4Sure has the updated tests for the certification each time that you buy the test from them.

Anyway i am grateful for your help

This site does not permit the posting of links to brain dumps or copyrighted materials

Pleas be aware that Pass4Sure, testking and many others are brain dumps - questions copied from the exams in violation of the NDA on those exams and distributed illegally. Using them or supplying them can result in all your certifications been revoked, permanently. In addition, trying to obtain the exact questions that you will be asked is cheating.

This site is a good one to check the validity of test material - http://www.certguard.com/

The Self-paced training kit from Microsoft Press is a very good resource.

Because of Pass4Sure, testking and other brain dumps this certs doesnt worth much anymore.

Hope that MS put some limitations to this certs, as you can take exam if you have some number of years of experience in working on SQL Server, with some proof of that, of course.

But I really doubt MS would do this bcos it brings them money, a lot of money.

How would you prove that in a way that it can't be faked or lied about, without adding so much admin overhead to the exams that they take thousands of dollars to write? (like the MS Master cert)

I guess I should hand some of my certs back. I wrote 2 Sharepoint exams with only a couple months of playing with the product.
