Databases keep dropping out of Maintenance Plans

    Apologies if this is not the correct Forum for this question and further apologies if it's a topic that crops up regularly. However it does involve backups and I couldn't find anything with a search of the topic, hence the post.

    My problem is that when I need to add a database to a Maintenance Plan involving Differential or Log backups I have to re-select all the original databases as well. Is there a reason for this or is it something that can be fixed as it's really irritating?

    Hi Atul and thanks for responding. SQL Server is 2005 Standard at Service Pack 2 level (9.00.3050.00).

    This is one of the many known bugs with Maintenance Plans.

    There is a patch for this issue, not entirely sure which one though.

    Personally, I try and remove Maintenance Plans on any of our clients servers. They are just too much trouble to maintain when simple T-SQL scripts can perform the same functions without fail.

    Hi,

    This is known bug with SQL Server 2005 SP2 Maintenance plan. They work very funny at times.

    You can try to install the hot fix from below:

    Hope this will fix the issue.
