Yup, I've seen that at every company I've worked for. An FTE can be saying something for 2 years and nothing happens, but when a high-priced consultant comes in and says the same thing it gets done.

Ha Ha That's exactly how SSRS became the corporate reporting tool. I was going on for ages about it being easier and cheaper than Crystal Reports and wrote comparison papers and everything but it was like banging my head against a brick wall. Then the suppliers of the main business system recommended it when we moved that from Oracle to SQL Server. Now it's embedded and we are rid of Crystal and have a team of SQL Report writers trained up from the business. And we've dumped that business system because of a merger. How things change!

Hey Steve

There's a formatting error in my article today that causes all the code to be outside code boxes. Should I fix this and re-submit or is this something you would change?

Bah. You didn't really want people to read your article anyway, did you? Because then they might comment, and if they comment, you'd have to answer, and then there would be much tearing of hair and gnashing of teeth and chaos would ensue...

Oh, you don't want him to do that, those nice shaded rectangular blocks are pretty. Putting text in them would spoil the appearance.

That's true, they are aesthetically pleasing...

Well, time to polish the resume and start looking for work. Just given a 1 month notice.
They want to keep me on a retainer for 5 hours a week, so that might be a nice side income, as long as I find another full time job soon.
Hate looking this time of year.
