With an announcement from the Oracle DBA I work with, I now know what the people I used to work with felt like when I announced I was leaving...

Worse, he's leaving half-way through my vacation, leaving a very novice guy in charge of both MS SQL and Oracle...

"EDITED: removed solution at the request of the OP, if you are having the same issues and want to know how to fix it, please contact OP to find out what they did"
