We use TFS for source control. The SSIS packages that we use are deployed to the clients test system and production System.

We deploy the packages to test and production whenever needed.

Now,I have to find out a way to quickly identify the version of the packages in test and production. Say I deploy a package to production.I then modify the package and deploy it to test. Now,i need to find a way by which we can identify which version is in the test m/c and which is in prod.

We normally deploy the packages to test and when it works fine there we need to prod.So both the systems must have the same version of packages.

But,my boss believes that everyone should be able to find the version of the packages and the developer may be prone to mistakes and deploy something to prod and not to test or something like that.

Does anyone have any idea how this could be achieved?

Any help would be much appreciated.
