Hi,
I have Table and in the Table footer I have another Table.
I get message for inner Table that "Data Regions within table/matrix cells are ignored", when I export the report in Excel, but when I export in PDF, it is fine.
Please tell me is the Table is not a suitable object for this kind of thing.
I have already made around 15 reports using table. Is there any solution, which not require re-writing the whole report.

Not going to be much of a help, but I did some research on this a few weeks ago and I believe that Microsoft has acknowledged this as a bug. They haven't committed to fixing it in any service pack.

This, along with other limitations that we have found with respect to totalling has us backed up against a wall too.

Rob is correct in saying that MS is aware of this and plans on taking care of it in the future. As an aside, I've almost always been able to work around this using various methods, the most common of which is to use creative expressions in the outer data region to implement the task that I wanted the inner data region to perform.

With a bit more detail about what the outer region and region are supposed to do, maybe we could help out.

Actually at first place, I do not want to re-design the reports, thas why I have asked if there is any solution to this.

Secondly My client is happy with that only. I mean Excel not showing the Data regions(summary section).

Thanks for the support. I may try using the features/ solutions you guys ssuggested.

Hi Sunil. I was curious to know if you ever found a work around or if MS fixed this issue in SQL 2005? I have report that is having the same issue in SSRS 2K. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

Sorry to say, I did not investigate further.

It was conveyed to the client it will be like this, and client was OK with that, so I left it there only.

I do not know if MS fixed the issue.

I'd like to take you up on your offer of help with a workaround.

I've got a report that renders a simple matrix of count_of_customer-orders by RateCodes by CustomerCategories.

The matrix is nested within a table row which groups the data by City.

Can you think of a way to re-write this report. The Customer Categories are a relatively short list (10 to 15), so I could see hard-coding those as columns, and using a flat table, but that guarantees a lot of wasted space...

I am also getting this error when i export my reports to Excel. I am using SSRS 2005 and Excel 2007. Did any one find a way around this???

Hi All,

I was also got same error. Tried out much controls..

Finally got answer.....

Use rectangle control..Use textboxes into it as your design requirement..

Insert rectangle into required cell in matrix..

Try for rectangle control into cell where you are getting error of cells regions are ignored..

Insert textboxes into rctangle so you can put label for the cell..
