Nice considering of the issues.
I agree with the direction of the article that a staging area has many advantages and is practically a given for a larger scale warehouse project.

Staging is nice and clean while you have SINGLE process to import data.
But when you have a situation with many processes are importing data simultenuosly and sometimes it's probably repeating data you need filter out on fly, staging becomes real headache.
