SQL Server 2016 Multinode Scale Out Polybase with hadoop (hive)

  • Dear Readers / Admins,

I want to post an article about installation, setup and post configuration with detail steps including screen captures accessing hadoop hive data from SQL Server 2016 using polybase scale out architecture and MPP technique (multi parllel processing). This will be both ORC and Parquet format (FYI - I use hortonworks for this)

This article I will also include trouble shooting steps and accessing json docukents copied in hadoop HDFS directly in relational (deserialzed) format using JSON functions in SQL Server 2016.

Please let me know if this will be of interest for the community.

    Regards,

    Venu S.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.
