SQL Server 2008R2 SP4 Updation Failed with multiple instances.

    We got a Database server with SQL Server 2008R2 with multiple instances and it is being used as secondary server in which databases will be in read only mode.

    We updated it with SP4.Interestingly default instance is good but the same is being reflected in other instances. For example; I created a test database in default instance and it is available in other instances also.

    Please help me to find my mistake.

    Can't help when I can't follow what you are saying. Are you saying that a database created in the default instance on ServerA is visible and accessible in one or more named instances on ServerA?

    Also, how are copies of databases created for read-only use?
