Hello all. New to this forum so I thought I'd start by asking a question that'll likely have many opinions and much debate!
What would people's choice be in regards to the storage options for their data files, log files and tempDB? I'm particularly interested in people's opinions of SAN storage vs local disks and SSDs vs HDDs. Currently looking at upgrading our storage options and the topic of SSDs have come up. A few years ago they likely wouldn't have been a consideration but they seem to have progressed well. Has anyone made the jump themselves and have any advice as to how that went?

Let's assume for the sake of this discussion all servers are virtual.
