Page break in matrix

  • I've have a matrix that must, if it has more than 3 columns, add a pagebreak after every 3 columns. I've searched the Internet, and some of the things look promissing, but I can't make it work.

One of the things I did, was adding a parent group on the expression Field!NumberOfRow.Value Mod 3 and checked the box for a pagebreak on this group. Nothing.

I saw a post somewhere that included the listbox with this matrix added, but it wasn't clear how to do it.

    Can anyone help me?

  • Two options come to mind.

Make your column width such that no more than three columns fit per page, this will cause automatic page breaks.

The method you tried but with this expression for the column group:

    =Ceiling(RowNumber("Tablix1") / 3)

You can set a page break after each group and even set the visibility of the textbox in the group header to "hide" so that you don't get an extra row on the report.

Don't forget to change the report viewer to "Print Layout" when testing or you won't see the page break happening.

  • The first isn't working. I use this report for export to Word and I get 4 columns on the page.

I've tried your second option. I added your code as an group expression. But now I only get two columns on 1page, instead of two columns on 2 pages.

I've added a parent group and added your code, made sure that both groups are sorting on the same column, same result.
