Perfmon with SQL Server multiple instances

  • Don't know if this is the correct forum but here it is - using perfmon on a SQL Server with named instances, when selecting an object you will see those instances but not with a specific reference (i.e. sqlservr#1, sqlservr#2). How can you determine which named instance corresponds to a specific sqlservr#. Default looks simple enough - but those with a reference number? Does anyone have any experience with that?

Any comments / URLs are appreciated. Thanks.

  • The SQL Server objects are named for the instance name. They'll be something like MSSQL$InstanceOne/Memory Manager
