Report Server (MSSQLSERVER) cannot load the Windows extension.

  • Hi,

    I had installed 2012 Reporting Services. I am unable to browse the report server URL.

    I am getting the following error in the event viewer

    "Report Server (MSSQLSERVER) cannot load the Windows extension."

    Can I get some assistance please.

    Thank you for the response.

    I am getting a new error now...

    Please let meknow if I can get help on this error:

    "Failed to unload app domain DefaultDomain. The following exception occurred: Error while unloading appdomain"

    The previous error is no more in place. Did the following and the issue resolved.

    1. When Microsoft Operations Manager is being installed on top of SQL Reporting Service 2005, it takes the backup of the Reporting Service’s configuration files as:

    RSReportServer.config.0 and RSReportServer.config.1

    2. Renamed one of these configuration files back to RSReportServer.config and restart

    Reporting Services Windows Service and Internet Information Server (IIS).

    3. After done the steps above, the Reporting Service may work fine. And then install Microsoft Operations Manager reports and Service Package 1 for Microsoft Operations Manager.
