I get a 403 in the top text box.
This is on a Windows 10 Pro installation.
I am happy to provide more detail (please ask me for what you need).
Obviously spelling mistakes in this post should be ignored.

Edge has been causing lots of issues. Not sure how much of a priority we put on it, but I'll ask.

Follow these steps to solve this issue:
1. Open Edge
2. In the address bar, type the following: http://chrome.google.com/
3. Press Enter
4. Click on Download
5. Install
6. Use a proper browser. 😀
I'm sorry, I tried using Edge when installing Win10, but it just didn't convince me.
Hopefully, you're not restricted to it. I believe that IE is still available in Win10 (just hidden).

New version of Edge due shortly.
I am sticking with it due to often being restricted to clients to the browser on the box AND sometimes having to support development on the currently supported Windows browsers.
Hopefully my spelling isn't too bad 😉

Sometimes there are problems with Chrome too. So much so that I have had to delete it. Some versions of Chrome misbehaved almost as much as QuickTime!!! :ermm:

Hey Gary, thanks again for letting us know about the issue. I'm one of the developers looking into this now, and I was hoping you could tell me more specifically which "top text box" do you mean? And also, is the issue still present on your side of things?
I'm asking because even though I've tried this on Windows 10 with Edge and everything looked fine to me, we still want to look into possible causes.

I tried this again yesterday as it happens. Same result. Windows Update up to date. This was at home so no corporate firewalls (ISP is PlusNet).
By the top text box I mean the one with the label saying "Not in Dictionary:" which initially is set to "Spell Checking in progress...".

I've now understood what you meant and was able to reproduce the issue easily, thanks again for helping me out with that.
So turns out, that the spell checking has shifted to be the responsibility of individual browsers and operating systems - they provide users with consistent and great spell checking across the system in all text boxes in websites. The spell check we have here on the forums was from the days when each site had to provide their own spell check if they wanted one. So we've decided to go with the times on this one, and we will be removing the custom spell check.
This means that from now on you can rely on the usual red squiggly underlines for mistyped words. The OS/browser spell check works great on Edge as well!
