Both pub and sub server are sql server 2008. the replication can not work every time I restarted the sub server.
I opened the replication monitor. and saw the detail.It said "The initial snapshot for publication 'TheDB' is not yet available".I had to reinitial the replication to solve this problem.can any body tell me how did this happen?

was there any job running at that time, any blocking, check for permissions at the distributor.
assuming you have setup transactional replication

Log reader agent and distribution agent is runing.The permissions at the distributor is ok.
because it runs normally before ther restarted. Yes,It is transactional replication.
