Excessive SQL Sever 2012 Log In Logging

  • Excessive logging is taking place in the Windows 2008 R2 Applications Log...

    Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (SP1) - 11.0.3482.0 (X64)

Enterprise Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.1 <X64> (Build 7601: Service Pack 1)

Domain Policy is not set for object and process audit

    Note:

***The logging is only taking place on instance 1 of 4

*** SQL Server 2012 Cluster Hosting 4 Instances

*** All Instances being hosted on 1 node

*** Excessive logging is on 1 instance

*** SQL Security Logging is set to (None)

    Issue resolved:

After changing SQL Security Policy a SQL Server restart was required to change the logging behavior.

  • What kind of logging? Can you give some examples of what is in the log? It could be apps issuing RAISERROR or THROW commands, SQL Server audits, XEvents, etc.
