SQL Training Courses...

  • Now I am finally going to a SQLSKILLS Immersion event (in a couple of months)... I am excited / nervous (I don't know why ) and happy.

Anyone else here been? If so.. what shall I expect? I assume a mind-bending experience...

I feel like a fat boy in a doughnut shop.

    🙂

    Yup. Done IE 1, 2 and 3

    Yup.

Make sure that work knows you're not to be bothered. Nothing worse than spending half of an expensive course outside fixing production issues.

Paul doesn't bite, ask him anything (ask him what he thinks about Autoshrink :hehe:)

Don't expect to get work done in the evenings, you'll be too tired and besides there are other students to have dinner with and chat with.

We walk in the dark places no others will enter
We stand on the bridge and no one may pass
  • Excellent I like the sound of that. I have booked the week off as annual leave and booked the hotel so I am ready to rock and roll... Hopefully I can get onto IE2 another year.

Gail, did you end up taking a lot of extra notes?

I hope Paul doesn't bite I have an arm length of questions to ask him 😉

  • Never been, but it's on my bucket list. I really need to schedule one and get the company to pay for it.

That is the ideal scenario where the company is willing to invest in you. Where I have been in the past they just tell me to "pick up a book"..
