I need a list of best books on SSAS.

  • I want to learn data mining, MDX, SSAS in detail and how it is used for reporting and help in business. Anyone who read such books and start their career?

    Please suggest good books.

  • You can just search google for books. For me, I only use books as a reference. Have you checked the pluralsight website? You can sign up for a month for less than the price of a book, that's how I learned SSAS.

  • I would start with the The Microsoft Data Warehouse Toolkit, Second Edition: With SQL Server 2008

Great books for SSAS and MDX specifically are the "Step by Step" books.

SQLServerCentral has a couple great resources too:

Stairway to MDX and Bill Pearson's series (27 articles so far) on Data mining.

"I cant stress enough the importance of switching from a sequential files mindset to set-based thinking. After you make the switch, you can spend your time tuning and optimizing your queries instead of maintaining lengthy, poor-performing code."
