70-459 2014 content while upgrading through 458 and 459

    Hello,

    I have just been reading up on exam 70-459 which is the third exam you do during the upgrade from 2008.

    I've had a look and I get the feeling the answer will be 'no', but as the exam 70-459 contains 2014 content does that mean you get any certs on SQL 2014? Would we still need to upgrade to another 2014 cert later on?

    I think that Microsoft is moving away from certifications based on a particular version of SQL Server. Instead, they are introducing new exam content as needed to test people on current technology.

    For certifications such as MCSE: Data Platform, I think you need to sit exams every 2 or 3 years for the certification to remain current. This is how MS ensure that the exams are not version specific (and also that they keep getting revenue from exams)
